यावत् त्वम् न वनम् यातः पुरात् अस्मात् अभित्वरन् ।
पिता तावन् न ते राम स्नास्यते भोक्ष्यते अपि वा ॥२-१९-१६॥
yāvat tvam na vanam yātaḥ purāt asmāt abhitvaran |
pitā tāvan na te rāma snāsyate bhokṣyate api vā ॥2-19-16॥
Translation
As long as you do not hurry and leave this city for the forest, O Rama, your father will neither bathe nor eat.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे राम! जब तक तुम शीघ्रता करके इस नगर से वन के लिए नहीं चले जाते, तब तक तुम्हारे पिता न तो स्नान करेंगे और न ही भोजन।
English Commentary
This is Kaikeyi's parting shot and a masterstroke of emotional manipulation. She claims that Dasharatha will not bathe or eat until Rama leaves. While the King is indeed fasting due to grief, Kaikeyi frames it as a condition: Rama's presence is the obstacle to the King's daily routine. She places the burden of the King's physical survival directly on Rama's immediate departure. By suggesting that delaying his exit prolongs his father's suffering, she ensures Rama will not linger for even a moment longer. It is a ruthless distortion designed to sever the bond physically and immediately.

यह कैकेयी का अंतिम और सबसे क्रूर प्रहार है। वह राजा के 'सत्याग्रह' या 'शोक' (खाना- पीना छोड़ना) को राम के विरुद्ध एक हथियार की तरह इस्तेमाल करती हैं। वह यह ध्वनित करती हैं कि राम की उपस्थिति ही राजा को कष्ट दे रही है, और जब तक वे चले नहीं जाते, राजा सामान्य नहीं होंगे। यह एक भावनात्मक ब्लैकमेल है। वह राम को यह महसूस कराती हैं कि राजा के स्वास्थ्य और जीवन की रक्षा के लिए उनका तुरंत चले जाना ही एकमात्र उपाय है। यह झूठ या अर्ध-सत्य राम को तत्काल प्रस्थान के लिए विवश कर देता है।
