यावन् मातरम् आपृच्चे सीताम् च अनुनयाम्य् अहम् ।
ततः अद्य एव गमिष्यामि दण्डकानाम् महद् वनम् ॥२-१९-२५॥
yāvan mātaram āpṛcce sītām ca anunayāmy aham |
tataḥ adya eva gamiṣyāmi daṇḍakānām mahad vanam ॥2-19-25॥
Translation
"Let me just bid farewell to my mother and console/persuade Sita. Then, this very day, I shall go to the great Dandaka forest."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"मैं केवल माता (कौशल्या) से विदा ले लूँ और सीता को समझा-बुझा (मना) लूँ। उसके बाद आज ही मैं दंडक के विशाल वन को चला जाऊँगा।"
English Commentary
Rama outlines his immediate itinerary. Before leaving, protocol and duty require him to see two people: his biological mother Kausalya and his wife Sita. The use of anunayami (console/persuade) regarding Sita foreshadows the emotional difficulty he anticipates in breaking the news to her. However, he reiterates adya eva (this very day), assuring Kaikeyi that these farewells are not delay tactics. He is committed to immediate departure once these personal obligations are fulfilled.

राम प्रस्थान की अंतिम तैयारी करते हैं। उनके दो मुख्य कर्तव्य शेष हैं: अपनी जन्मदात्री माँ कौशल्या से आज्ञा लेना और अपनी पत्नी सीता को स्थिति समझाना। 'अनुनयामि' (मना लूँ/समझा लूँ) शब्द इंगित करता है कि राम जानते हैं कि सीता को छोड़ना या उन्हें वन जाने के लिए तैयार करना कठिन होगा। 'अद्य एव' (आज ही) का प्रयोग फिर से राम की वचनबद्धता को दोहराता है—वे कल की प्रतीक्षा नहीं करेंगे। वे कैकेयी को आश्वस्त कर रहे हैं कि यह विलंब केवल विदाई का है, टालमटोल का नहीं।
