हिंदी अनुवाद
उन्होंने सुंदर राजछत्र और अलंकृत चँवरों (पंखों) को मना कर दिया। अपने स्वजनों, रथ, तथा नगरवासियों को भी विदा कर दिया (वापस लौटा दिया)।
English Commentary
This verse marks the physical transition from royalty to asceticism. Rama actively refuses the symbols of power—the umbrella (Chatra) and the fly-whisks (Vyajana)—which are the prerogatives of a Crown Prince. By dismissing his chariot, attendants, and the eager citizens, he strips himself of the insulation that royalty usually provides. He chooses to walk alone (metaphorically and literally) to face the hardest task of the day: breaking the news to his mother, Kausalya. It shows his decisive nature; once the path of Dharma is clear, he does not linger in the gray area of 'Prince-in-exile.' He immediately embodies the simplicity required for his new life.

यह श्लोक राम द्वारा राजसी चिह्नों के त्याग की प्रक्रिया का वर्णन करता है। छत्र और चँवर राजा के प्रतीक हैं। इन्हें अस्वीकार करके राम ने स्पष्ट कर दिया कि अब वह एक तपस्वी का जीवन स्वीकार कर चुके हैं। उन्होंने 'स्वजन' (सेवकों) और 'पौरान' (नगरवासियों) को भी लौटा दिया, क्योंकि वह नहीं चाहते थे कि उनके माता कौशल्या के पास जाने के समय कोई भीड़ हो या तमाशा बने। यह उनकी विनम्रता और निजता (privacy) की आवश्यकता को दर्शाता है। वह अपनी माँ को यह दुखद समाचार एकांत में और स्वयं देना चाहते थे। बाहरी आडंबरों को हटाकर राम अब अपने सत्य स्वरूप में, एक पुत्र के रूप में, अपनी माँ के पास जा रहे हैं।
