सर्वो ह्यभिजनः श्रीमान् श्रीमतः सत्यवादिनः ।
नालक्षयत् रामस्य किम्चिदाकारमानने ॥ ॥२-१९-३६॥
Sarvo hyabhijanaḥ śrīmān śrīmataḥ satyavādinaḥ |
Nālakṣayat Rāmasya kimcidākāramānane ॥2-19-36॥
Translation
None of the distinguished people present there could detect any change in the facial expression of the glorious and truthful Rama.

उस समय वहां उपस्थित किसी भी समृद्ध और कुलीन व्यक्ति ने, शोभा-सम्पन्न और सत्यवादी श्रीराम के मुख पर किसी प्रकार का विकार (परिवर्तन) नहीं देखा।
English Commentary
This verse reinforces the theme of stoicism. The Abhijana (people of high standing/surroundings) scrutinized Rama’s face. These were people who knew him well, yet they could find Na kimchid akaram—not the slightest change in his appearance or expression. Rama is described as Satyavadinah (truth-speaker); usually, honest people cannot hide their feelings. However, Rama’s truth is rooted in Dharma, which gives him the strength to accept reality without bitterness. His external composure was absolute. This impenetrability is not deception; it is the fortitude of a leader who refuses to let his personal calamity dampen the spirits of those around him or cause premature panic.

कहा जाता है कि 'चेहरा मन का दर्पण होता है', किन्तु राम ने इस दर्पण पर धैर्य का पर्दा डाल रखा था। आसपास खड़े 'अभिजन' (कुलीन और करीबी लोग) जो राम को बहुत अच्छे से जानते थे, वे भी राम के चेहरे पर कोई शिकन या उदासी नहीं ढूँढ पाए। राम 'सत्यवादी' हैं, अर्थात उनका जीवन सत्य पर आधारित है, और सत्य पर चलने वाले को परिणाम का भय नहीं होता। उनके चेहरे की चमक ('श्री') वैसी ही बनी रही। यह श्लोक राम की उस क्षमता को रेखांकित करता है जिसके द्वारा वे भयानक व्यक्तिगत संकट के बीच भी सार्वजनिक रूप से अपनी गरिमा बनाए रखते हैं। उन्होंने अपने आंतरिक तूफ़ान की एक भी लहर चेहरे पर नहीं आने दी।
