Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
बलमारोग्यमायुश्च रामस्य विदितात्मनः ।
देवासुरमनुष्येषु सगन्धर्वोरगेषु च ॥२-२-५०॥
balamārogyamāyuśca rāmasya viditātmanaḥ |
devāsuramanuṣyeṣu sagandharvorageṣu ca ॥2-2-50॥
Translation
Among the Gods (Devas), Demons (Asuras), and Humans, along with the Celestial Musicians (Gandharvas) and Serpent-beings (Uragas), (everyone prays for) the strength, health, and longevity of Rama, the knower of the Self.

देवता, असुर, मनुष्य, गन्धर्व और नागों सहित (समस्त प्राणी), उन विदितात्मा (आत्मज्ञानी) श्रीराम के बल, आरोग्य और आयु की (कामना करते हैं)।
English Commentary
This verse is from the second Sarga of the Ayodhya Kanda. The assembly members are affirming Dasharatha's proposal by highlighting Rama's universal appeal. Grammatically, this verse connects to the next, implying that all these beings 'pray for' Rama. The verse asserts that Rama's coronation is not just a human political event but a cosmic necessity. By listing Devas, Asuras, Humans, Gandharvas, and Uragas, the text suggests that Rama is the bridge between all planes of existence. Even the Asuras (demons) are mentioned as wishing him well, indicating that Rama’s righteousness commands respect even from adversaries. He is described as Viditatmanah (one of disciplined soul/knower of the Self), implying that the cosmos roots for him because his strength and health guarantee the preservation of Dharma for all beings.

यह श्लोक वाल्मीकि रामायण के अयोध्याकाण्ड (सर्ग २) से लिया गया है। राजसभा में उपस्थित राजा और प्रजाजन महाराज दशरथ से श्रीराम की लोकप्रियता का वर्णन कर रहे हैं। व्याकरण की दृष्टि से यह श्लोक अगले श्लोक से जुड़ा है जहाँ 'आशंसन्ते' (कामना करते हैं) क्रिया आती है। सभासद कहते हैं कि श्रीराम का प्रभाव केवल अयोध्या या पृथ्वी तक सीमित नहीं है, अपितु त्रैलोक्य व्यापक है। देवता, गन्धर्व, नाग और यहाँ तक कि असुर भी श्रीराम के 'बल' और 'आरोग्य' की कामना करते हैं। श्रीराम को यहाँ 'विदितात्मा' (जिन्होंने आत्मा को जान लिया है या जो पूर्णतः अनुशासित हैं) कहा गया है। भाव यह है कि श्रीराम का धर्म और चरित्र इतना पवित्र है कि सृष्टि के सभी वर्ग—चाहे वे सात्विक हों या तामसिक—उनके अभ्युदय में ही अपना कल्याण देखते हैं।
