अबुद्धिर्बत नो राजा जीवलोकं चरत्ययम् ।
यो गतिं सर्वभूतानां परित्यजति राघवम् ॥ ॥२-२०-५॥
Abuddhirbata no rājā jīvalokaṃ caratyayam । Yo gatiṃ sarvabhūtānāṃ parityajati rāghavam ॥ ॥2-20-5॥
Translation
Alas! Our King acts without wisdom in this world, for he is abandoning Raghava, the refuge of all beings.
हिंदी अनुवाद
धिक्कार है! हमारे राजा सचमुच बुद्धिहीन होकर इस संसार में व्यवहार कर रहे हैं, जो समस्त प्राणियों की गति (आश्रय) रूप राम का त्याग कर रहे हैं।
English Commentary
The grief turns into anger directed at King Dasharatha. The queens explicitly call him abuddhih (senseless/witless). For royal wives to criticize the King so openly signifies the magnitude of the perceived injustice. The interjection bata expresses deep regret and sorrow. They argue that by abandoning Rama, who is the gati (ultimate refuge) for all living beings, the King is acting against the laws of nature and dharma. This verse shows that in the eyes of the palace, Rama's moral authority has already superseded Dasharatha's legal authority.

रनिवास की स्त्रियां अब अपने पति (राजा दशरथ) की खुली आलोचना कर रही हैं। 'बत' शब्द खेद और धिक्कार को दर्शाता है। वे राजा को 'अबुद्धिः' (बुद्धिहीन) कहती हैं। पतिव्रता स्त्रियों द्वारा पति की ऐसी निंदा तभी संभव है जब अन्याय की सीमा पार हो जाए। वे मानती हैं कि राम 'सर्वभूतानां गतिं' (सभी प्राणियों के आश्रय) हैं। राजा द्वारा राम को त्यागना केवल एक पिता की भूल नहीं, बल्कि एक शासक का विनाशकारी निर्णय है। यहां प्रजा और परिवार का प्रेम राजा की सत्ता और निर्णय पर भारी पड़ रहा है।
