Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
मम प्रव्राजनात् अद्य कृत कृत्या नृपात्मजा ।
सुतम् भरतम् अव्यग्रम् अभिषेचयिता ततः ॥ ॥२-२२-१२॥
Mama pravrājanāt adya kṛta kṛtyā nṛpātmajā । Sutam bharatam avyagram abhiṣecayitā tataḥ ॥ ॥2-22-12॥
Translation
Upon my exile today, the King's daughter (Kaikeyi) will feel that her purpose is accomplished, and then she will be able to consecrate her son Bharata without any distraction or anxiety.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आज मेरे वन चले जाने से नृपकुमारी (कैकेयी) कृतकृत्य (सफल मनोरथ) हो जाएँगी और तब वे अपने पुत्र भरत का निश्चिंत होकर (अव्यग्रम्) अभिषेक करा सकेंगी।
English Commentary
Rama visualizes the outcome of his departure. He refers to Kaikeyi as Nṛpātmajā (Daughter of a King), acknowledging her royal ambition. He believes his exile will make her feel kṛta kṛtyā (one who has accomplished their task). This will pave the way for her to install Bharata on the throne avyagram (undisturbed/calmly). Rama is actively facilitating the transfer of power to his brother. He harbors no jealousy; instead, he seems content that his departure will stabilize the kingdom's politics according to Kaikeyi’s wishes, thereby restoring peace to the family.

राम यहाँ स्थिति को कैकेयी के दृष्टिकोण से देख रहे हैं। वे जानते हैं कि कैकेयी का लक्ष्य केवल राम का वनवास नहीं, बल्कि भरत का राज्याभिषेक है। राम कहते हैं कि मेरे जाने से वे 'कृतकृत्या' (संतुष्ट/सफल) हो जाएंगी। 'अव्यग्रम्' शब्द महत्वपूर्ण है—इसका अर्थ है बिना किसी बाधा या घबराहट के। राम चाहते हैं कि भरत का राज्यभिषेक शांतिपूर्ण हो, और यह तभी संभव है जब राम स्वयं रास्ते से हट जाएं। राम का यह त्याग न केवल पिता के लिए है, बल्कि भाई भरत के लिए मार्ग प्रशस्त करने हेतु भी है। यह राम के चरित्र की उदारता है कि वे अपने स्थान पर भाई को देख प्रसन्न हैं।
