एभिरेव घटैः सर्वैरभिषेचनसम्भृतैः ।
मम लक्स्मण तापस्ये व्रतस्नानम् भविष्यति ॥२-२२-२७॥
ebhireva ghaṭaiḥ sarvairabhiṣecanasambhṛtaiḥ । mama laksmaṇa tāpasye vratasnānam bhaviṣyati ॥2-22-27॥
Translation
O Lakshmana! With these very water vessels collected for the coronation, the consecratory bath for my ascetic vows shall now be performed.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे लक्ष्मण! राज्याभिषेक के लिए तैयार किए गए इन सभी जल के कलशों से अब मेरे तपस्वी जीवन का व्रत-स्नान (दीक्षा-स्नान) संपन्न होगा।
English Commentary
Shri Rama displays immense adaptability and grace here. He proposes using the very water intended to crown him King for initiating him into the life of an ascetic instead. This shows his lack of bitterness; he does not see the water as 'tainted' by the failed event but simply as a resource to be repurposed for his new duty. It highlights that for Rama, both kingship and asceticism are sacred paths requiring consecration, and he is ready to transition instantly from one role to the other without friction.

श्रीराम यहाँ परिस्थितियों के नाटकीय परिवर्तन को अत्यंत सहजता से स्वीकार करते हैं। जो जल 'राजा' बनने के लिए लाया गया था, उसी जल का उपयोग वे 'तपस्वी' बनने के लिए करने का प्रस्ताव रखते हैं। यह उनकी अद्भुत अनुकूलन क्षमता (adaptability) को दर्शाता है। वे संसाधनों का रोना नहीं रोते, बल्कि उपलब्ध साधनों का ही उपयोग नए उद्देश्य के लिए करने को तैयार हैं। यह श्लोक यह भी संकेत देता है कि श्रीराम के लिए राजा बनना और वनवासी बनना, दोनों ही पवित्र कर्तव्य हैं, और दोनों का आरंभ 'स्नान' (पवित्रता) से होना चाहिए।
