यद्यपि प्रतिपत्तिस्ते दैवी चापि तयोर्मतम् ।
तथा प्युपेक्षणीयम् ते न मे तदपि रोचते ॥२-२३-१५॥
yadyapi pratipattiste daivī cāpi tayormatam । tathā pyupekṣaṇīyam te na me tadapi rocate ॥2-23-15॥
Translation
(Repeated Verse) Even if you consider this to be Destiny and their will, it still deserves to be disregarded; I do not approve of it at all.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(यह श्लोक पुनरुक्त है) यद्यपि आप इसे दैव और उनका मत मानते हैं, तो भी यह मेरे विचार से उपेक्षा करने (त्याग देने) योग्य ही है; मुझे यह बिल्कुल स्वीकार नहीं।
English Commentary
(Note: This is a repetition of Verse 13, emphasizing the point). Lakshmana reiterates his stance to hammer home the concept of Upeksha (disregard). He is trying to absolve Rama of the guilt of disobedience. By repeating that the command deserves to be ignored, he insists that rejecting an unjust order—even from the divine or parents—is the morally superior choice compared to blind obedience.
