द्रक्ष्यन्ति तु अद्य दैवस्य पौरुषम् पुरुषस्य च ।
दैव मानुषयोः अद्य व्यक्ता व्यक्तिर् भविष्यति ॥२-२३-१८॥
drakṣyanti tu adya daivasya pauruṣam puruṣasya ca । daiva mānuṣayoḥ adya vyaktā vyaktir bhaviṣyati ॥2-23-18॥
Translation
Today, people shall witness the power of Destiny and the prowess of a man. Today, the distinction between Destiny and human effort will become clearly evident.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आज लोग दैव का बल और पुरुष (मेरा) का पौरुष—दोनों देखेंगे। आज दैव और मनुष्य के बीच का अंतर स्पष्ट हो जाएगा।
English Commentary
Lakshmana issues an open challenge. He frames the day’s events as a cosmic showdown: Destiny vs. Human Will. Rama claimed the exile was Destiny's doing; Lakshmana vows to stop it with his prowess. He invites the world to witness who triumphs. He asserts that today, the superiority of human effort over invisible fate will be proven once and for all.

लक्ष्मण अब एक खुली चुनौती (Open Challenge) देते हैं। यह दैव बनाम पुरुषार्थ का युद्ध है। श्रीराम ने कहा था कि वनवास दैव की इच्छा है, तो लक्ष्मण कहते हैं कि मेरा पौरुष उस वनवास को रोकेगा। देखते हैं कौन जीतता है? लक्ष्मण पूरी दुनिया को गवाह बनाना चाहते हैं कि जब एक दृढ़ संकल्पी मनुष्य खड़ा होता है, तो अदृश्य भाग्य को भी पीछे हटना पड़ता है।
