मन्गलैः अभिषिन्चस्व तत्र त्वम् व्याप्Rतः भव ।
अहम् एको मही पालान् अलम् वारयितुम् बलात् ॥२-२३-२९॥
mangalaiḥ abhiṣincasva tatra tvam vyāpṛtaḥ bhava |
aham eko mahī pālā n alam vārayitum balāt ॥2-23-29॥
Translation
Get yourself consecrated with auspicious articles and remain engaged in that; I am capable of holding back all the kings by force, single-handedly.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आप मांगलिक पदार्थों से अपना राज्याभिषेक करवाइए और उसी कार्य में व्यस्त रहिए। मैं अकेला ही समस्त राजाओं को बलपूर्वक रोकने में समर्थ हूँ।
English Commentary
Lakshmana proposes a clear division of labor here. Sri Rama’s role is to uphold 'Dharma' and perform the 'Rituals,' while Lakshmana’s role is to provide 'Power' and 'Security.' During a coronation, the king must be absorbed in sacred rites. Lakshmana urges Rama to focus entirely on the ceremony without worry. If any rival kings or armies attempt to intervene, Lakshmana claims he needs no army; he alone (aham eko) is sufficient to repel them by force. This highlights both Lakshmana’s supreme martial confidence and his desire to insulate Rama from the violence and conflict surrounding the succession.

लक्ष्मण यहाँ श्रम विभाजन (division of labor) का प्रस्ताव रख रहे हैं। श्रीराम का कार्य है 'धर्म' और 'अनुष्ठान' का पालन करना, जबकि लक्ष्मण का कार्य है 'शक्ति' और 'सुरक्षा' प्रदान करना। जब राज्याभिषेक होता है, तो राजा को कई धार्मिक क्रियाओं में लीन रहना पड़ता है। लक्ष्मण कहते हैं कि राम निश्चिंत होकर पूजा-पाठ में ध्यान दें। यदि कोई राजा या विरोधी सेना आक्रमण करती है या विघ्न डालती है, तो लक्ष्मण को किसी सेना की आवश्यकता नहीं है; वे अकेले ही (अहम् एको) उन सबको रोकने के लिए पर्याप्त हैं। यह लक्ष्मण के आत्मविश्वास और राम को किसी भी प्रकार के क्लेश से मुक्त रखने की उनकी इच्छा को दर्शाता है।
