Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
एवम् उक्ता तु रामेण कौसल्या शुभ दर्शना ।
तथा इति उवाच सुप्रीता रामम् अक्लिष्ट कारिणम् ॥ ॥२-२४-१३॥
evam uktā tu rāmeṇa kausalyā śubha darśanā । tathā iti uvāca suprītā rāmam akliṣṭa kāriṇam ॥ ॥2-24-13॥
Translation
Being addressed thus by Rama, Kausalya of auspicious appearance, being pleased, said "So be it" (Tatha) to Rama, who never performs a wrong deed.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राम के द्वारा इस प्रकार समझाए जाने पर, शुभ दृष्टि वाली कौशल्या प्रसन्न हुईं और उन्होंने कभी क्लेश (पाप/गलती) न करने वाले राम से कहा—"तथा (वैसा ही होगा)।"
English Commentary
The impact of Rama's righteous words is immediate. Kausalya is described as 'Shubha-darshana' (one with auspicious sight/insight), implying she possesses the wisdom to recognize the truth. She understands that Rama's insistence on her staying is rooted in Dharma. Rama is referred to as 'aklishta-karinam' (one of unwearied action/one who does no wrong), validating his judgment. Her response, "Tatha" (So be it), signifies her acceptance and resignation. It marks a transition from an emotional mother to a dutiful queen, sacrificing her desire to be with her son for the sake of her husband's life and the kingdom's stability.

राम के धर्मयुक्त वचनों का प्रभाव तुरंत होता है। कौशल्या को 'शुभ दर्शना' कहा गया है, जिसका अर्थ है जो सत्य और मंगल को देख सकती हैं। वे समझ जाती हैं कि राम जो कह रहे हैं, वह धर्मानुकूल है। उनके मन का मोह दूर होता है और वे मान जाती हैं। राम को 'अक्लिष्ट कारिणम्' (जो बिना थकान या गलती के कार्य करता है) कहा गया है, जो यह दर्शाता है कि राम के निर्णय सदैव निर्दोष होते हैं। कौशल्या का "तथा" (वैसा ही हो) कहना उनकी महानता और त्याग को दर्शाता है कि उन्होंने पुत्र की इच्छा और पति के प्राणों के लिए अपनी ममता का दमन कर लिया।
