एष धर्मः पुरा दृष्टः लोके वेदे श्रुतः स्मृतः ।
अग्निकार्येषु च सदा सुमनोभिश्च देवताः ॥२-२४-२७॥
eṣa dharmaḥ purā dṛṣṭaḥ loke vede śrutaḥ smṛtaḥ |
agnikāryeṣu ca sadā sumanobhiśca devatāḥ ॥2-24-27॥
Translation
This Dharma has been observed since ancient times, heard in the Vedas and remembered (in Smritis). Therefore, (stay here and serve him) through fire rituals and by propitiating deities with flowers.

यह धर्म (पति सेवा) सनातन काल से देखा गया है, लोक और वेद में सुना और स्मरण किया गया है। (अतः आप यहीं रहकर) अग्निहोत्र कार्यों में और पुष्पों द्वारा देवताओं (की और राजा की सेवा करें)।
English Commentary
In this concluding verse of the argument, Rama validates his counsel by citing supreme authority. He declares that this duty is 'pura drstah' (seen since ancient times) and confirmed in the Vedas and Smritis ('smrtah'). This removes any doubt Kausalya might have about the righteousness of staying back. Finally, recognizing Kausalya's pious nature, Rama directs her energy into a constructive channel: he advises her to perform 'agnikaryesu' (fire rituals) and worship deities with flowers ('sumanobhih'), but with the specific intent of praying for the King and Rama's return. By doing so, he harmonizes her need for religious observance with her duty to stay in the palace, effectively convincing her to abandon the idea of exile.
