प्राप्स्यसे परमम् कामम् मयि प्रत्यागते सति ।
(द्विरुक्ति) ॥२-२४-२९॥
prāpsyase paramam kāmam mayi pratyāgate sati ॥2-24-29॥
Translation
Upon my return, you shall obtain your supreme desire.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मेरे वापस लौट आने पर आपकी परम कामना (मनोरथ) पूर्ण होगी।
English Commentary
Rama offers a beacon of hope to his mother in this brief verse. He assures her that the separation is temporary and that the ultimate outcome will be joyful. By using the phrase 'mayi pratyagate sati' (when I have returned), he reinforces the certainty of his return, combating her fear that he might be lost to the forest forever. 'Paramam kamam' (supreme desire) refers to the fulfillment of her deepest wish—seeing Rama consecrated as King and the family reunited. Rama is essentially asking her to hold onto this promise as an anchor during the stormy years of exile that lie ahead.

राम यहाँ माता कौशल्या को भविष्य की आशा बंधा रहे हैं। वे उन्हें विश्वास दिलाते हैं कि यह वियोग स्थायी नहीं है। 'मयि प्रत्यागते सति' (मेरे लौट आने पर) वाक्यांश कौशल्या के मन में यह दृढ़ निश्चय उत्पन्न करता है कि राम अवश्य लौटेंगे। 'परमम् कामम्' का अर्थ यहाँ केवल राम का दर्शन नहीं, बल्कि राम का राज्याभिषेक और परिवार का पुनर्मिलन है, जो कौशल्या की सबसे बड़ी इच्छा है। राम उन्हें वर्तमान के कष्ट को भविष्य के सुख की आशा में सहन करने की प्रेरणा दे रहे हैं। यह एक पुत्र द्वारा दी गई सांत्वना है कि अंततः सब कुछ शुभ होगा।
