Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
कलाश्च काष्ठाश्च तथा तव शर्म दिशन्तु ते ।
महा वनानि चरतः मुनि वेषस्य धीमतः ॥ ॥२-२५-१६॥
Kalāśca kāṣṭhāśca tathā tava śarma diśantu te । Mahā vanāni carataḥ muni veṣasya dhīmataḥ ॥ ॥2-25-16॥
Translation
While you wander through the great forests dressed as a hermit, O wise one, may even the minute units of time (Kalas and Kashtas) bestow happiness upon you.

महावन में मुनि के वेश में विचरण करने वाले तुम जैसे बुद्धिमान के लिए 'कला' और 'काष्ठा' (समय की सूक्ष्म इकाइयाँ) भी सुख प्रदान करें।
English Commentary
Having invoked the larger cycles of time, Kausalya now focuses on the microscopic units: Kalas and Kashtas (ancient Vedic measurements of time, fractions of seconds). This signifies a comprehensive protective shield; she wants to ensure that not even a split second brings harm to Rama. The reference to Rama being in "Muni vesha" (garb of a sage) is poignant. It acknowledges his transition from a prince to an ascetic. Kausalya prays that despite this rugged lifestyle in the "Maha vanani" (great forests), the universe should conspire to bring him comfort and welfare at every conceivable moment.
