पान्तु त्वामर्चिता राम! दण्डकारण्यवासिनम् ।
अग्निर्वायुस्तथा धूमोमन्त्राश्चर्षिमुखाच्च्युताः ॥ ॥२-२५-२४॥
Pāntu tvāmarcitā rāma! daṇḍakāraṇyavāsinam । Agnirvāyustathā dhūmomantrāścarṣimukhāccyutāḥ ॥ ॥2-25-24॥
Translation
O Rama! While you reside in the Dandaka forest, may the Fire (Agni), the Wind (Vayu), the sacrificial Smoke (Dhuma), and the Mantras uttered by the sages protect you.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे राम! जब तुम दंडकारण्य में निवास करो, तब (मेरे द्वारा) पूजित अग्नि, वायु, तथा यज्ञ का धूम और ऋषियों के मुख से निकले हुए मंत्र तुम्हारी रक्षा करें।
English Commentary
This verse underscores the protective power of Vedic rituals. Kausalya invokes Agni (Fire) and Vayu (Wind), primal elements essential for survival. Notably, she includes Dhuma (the smoke from sacrificial fires) as a protective entity, symbolizing the sanctity and purifying nature of the Yajna (sacrifice). Furthermore, she invokes the Mantras that fall from the mouths of Rishis. This highlights the belief that the spoken word of a sage is a tangible force of protection. Kausalya trusts that the spiritual atmosphere created by sages in the forest will shield Rama from the chaotic nature of Dandakaranya.

यह श्लोक वैदिक संस्कृति की गहराई को दर्शाता है। कौशल्या केवल देवताओं पर ही नहीं, बल्कि यज्ञ और तपस्या के तत्वों पर भी भरोसा करती हैं। वह चाहती हैं कि 'अग्नि' और 'वायु' जैसे प्राकृतिक तत्व राम के अनुकूल हों। विशेष रूप से 'धूम' (यज्ञ का धुआं) का उल्लेख महत्वपूर्ण है; यज्ञ का धुआं पवित्र माना जाता है और वातावरण को शुद्ध करता है। 'ऋषियों के मुख से निकले मंत्र'—यह वाणी की शक्ति में विश्वास है। माता का मानना है कि ऋषियों के आशीर्वाद और वैदिक मंत्र एक अदृश्य कवच बनकर दंडकारण्य में राम की रक्षा करेंगे।
