Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
दक्षिणाम् प्रददौ काम्याम् राघवम् चेदमब्रवीत् ।
यन् मन्गलम् सहस्र अक्षे सर्व देव नमः कृते ॥ ॥२-२५-३२॥
Dakṣiṇām pradadau kāmyām rāghavam cedamabravīt । Yan maṅgalam sahasra akṣe sarva deva namaḥ kṛte ॥ ॥2-25-32॥
Translation
She gave the desired fee (Dakshina) to the priests and then spoke thus to Raghava: "May the auspiciousness that attended the Thousand-eyed Indra when he was bowed to by all the gods..."

उन्होंने मनचाही दक्षिणा प्रदान की और फिर राघव (राम) से यह कहा: "जो मंगल (सौभाग्य) सहस्रनेत्रधारी इंद्र को सभी देवताओं द्वारा नमन किए जाने पर प्राप्त हुआ था..."
English Commentary
Having satisfied the priests with generous Dakshina, Kausalya turns to her son. She begins a series of powerful blessings rooted in mythology. She invokes Sahasraksha (Indra, the thousand-eyed one). By referencing the moment Indra was acknowledged as King by all other gods, Kausalya subtly reinforces Rama's royalty. Even though he is losing his earthly kingdom, she prays that he retains the aura and command of Indra, ensuring that wherever he goes, he commands respect and authority like the King of Gods.

अनुष्ठान पूरा करने के बाद, अब कौशल्या राम को मौखिक आशीर्वाद देती हैं। वह पौराणिक उपमाओं (Precedents) का उपयोग करती हैं। वह राम की तुलना देवताओं के राजा इंद्र (सहस्राक्ष) से करती हैं। जिस प्रकार इंद्र को सभी देवताओं ने सम्मान दिया और उनका राज्याभिषेक हुआ, वही गौरव वन में भी राम को मिले। यह आशीर्वाद थोड़ा विडंबनापूर्ण भी है क्योंकि राम का राज्याभिषेक रुक गया है, लेकिन कौशल्या आध्यात्मिक राज्याभिषेक की कामना कर रही हैं, जहाँ वन के सभी प्राणी राम को अपना राजा मानें।
