Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
पश्यामि त्वाम् सुखम् वत्स सुस्थितम् राज वेश्मनि ।
प्रणष्टकुःखसम्कल्पा हर्षविद्योतितानना ॥ ॥२-२५-४२॥
Paśyāmi tvām sukham vatsa susthitam rāja veśmani । Praṇaṣṭakuḥkhasamkalpā harṣavidyotitānanā ॥ ॥2-25-42॥
Translation
"O Child! May I see you happily established in the royal palace, with all my sorrows and anxieties destroyed, and my face glowing with joy."

"हे वत्स! जब मेरे दुख और चिंताएं नष्ट हो जाएंगी, तब मैं हर्ष से दमकते हुए मुख के साथ तुम्हें राजभवन में सुखपूर्वक स्थित देखूं।"
English Commentary
Kausalya visualizes a specific future moment to anchor her sanity. She contrasts her current tear-stained face with a future version of herself: Harsha-vidyotita-anana (face illuminated with joy). She prays to see Rama Susthitam (well-established/stable) in the palace, countering the instability of the nomadic life he is about to undertake. This visualization is her coping mechanism; she is not just blessing him, but telling him exactly what scene needs to happen 14 years later for her life to have meaning.

कौशल्या अपनी कल्पना में उस दृश्य का निर्माण कर रही हैं जो उन्हें अगले 14 वर्षों तक जीवित रखेगा। वह स्वयं को 'हर्षविद्योतितानना' (खुशी से चमकते चेहरे वाली) के रूप में देखना चाहती हैं, जो वर्तमान स्थिति (आंसुओं से भीगा चेहरा) के ठीक विपरीत है। 'सुस्थितम्' का अर्थ है अच्छी तरह स्थापित—अर्थात, वनवास के अस्थिर जीवन के बाद पुनः राजभवन की स्थिरता। यह श्लोक आशा (Hope) का प्रतीक है। वह वर्तमान के अंधकार को भविष्य की रोशनी से काटने का प्रयास कर रही हैं।
