इति इव च अश्रु प्रतिपूर्ण लोचना ।
समाप्य च स्वस्त्ययनम् यथा विधि ।
प्रदक्षिणम् चैव चकार राघवम् ।
पुनः पुनः च अपि निपीड्य सस्वजे ॥ ॥२-२५-४६॥
Iti iva ca aśru pratipūrṇa locanā । Samāpya ca svastyayanam yathā vidhi । Pradakṣiṇam caiva cakāra rāghavam । Punaḥ punaḥ ca api nipīḍya sasvaje ॥ ॥2-25-46॥
Translation
Speaking thus with eyes filled with tears, having completed the benediction ritual according to the rules, she circumambulated Raghava and embraced him tightly again and again.

ऐसा कहकर और नेत्रों में आंसू भरकर, विधिपूर्वक स्वस्त्ययन (मंगल-पाठ) समाप्त कर, उन्होंने राघव की परिक्रमा (प्रदक्षिणा) की और बार-बार उन्हें भींचकर गले लगाया।
English Commentary
The ritual formality (Yatha vidhi) ends, and raw emotion takes over. Kausalya performs Pradakshina (circumambulation) around Rama. This is an act usually reserved for deities or sacred fires, implying she recognizes the divinity or supreme importance of her son. The phrase Nipidya sasvaje (embraced by pressing tightly) conveys the desperate physicality of the separation. She is physically clinging to him, trying to imprint his presence onto her soul before the long separation begins.

अनुष्ठान पूरा होते ही (समाप्य), 'माता' का रूप 'रानी' के रूप पर हावी हो जाता है। आँखों में अब आंसुओं का सैलाब है। 'प्रदक्षिणम्' (परिक्रमा) करना आदर का सूचक है; कौशल्या अपने पुत्र में दिव्यता देखती हैं या उसे अपनी दुनिया का केंद्र मानती हैं। 'निपीड्य सस्वजे' (दबाकर/भींचकर गले लगाना)—यह शब्द माँ की उस तड़प को दिखाता है जो अपने बच्चे को छोड़ना नहीं चाहती। यह स्पर्श की भाषा है, जहाँ शब्द अब व्यर्थ हो गए हैं।
