अहम् दुर्गम् गमिष्यामि वनम् पुरुषवर्जितम् ।
नानामृगगणाकीर्णम् शार्दूलवृकसेवितम् ॥२-२७-१०॥
aham durgam gamiṣyāmi vanam puruṣavarjitam । nānāmṛgagaṇākīrṇam śārdūlavṛkasevitam ॥2-27-10॥
Translation
I will go to that difficult forest, devoid of humans, filled with herds of various beasts, and inhabited by tigers and wolves.

मैं उस दुर्गम वन में जाऊंगी जहाँ मनुष्यों का अभाव है, जो अनेक प्रकार के मृगों (जानवरों) के समूहों से भरा है और जहाँ बाघ तथा भेड़ियों का बसेरा है।
English Commentary
Sita directly addresses the terrifying imagery Rama used earlier to dissuade her. He warned of tigers, lions, and solitude. Instead of flinching, she repeats his description—validating the danger involving tigers (shardula) and wolves (vrika)—and accepts it explicitly. By stating "I will go" (gamishyami) immediately after describing the horrors, she proves her resolve is unshakable. She is stripping Rama of the "fear card." She acknowledges the forest is purusha-varjitam (devoid of people), implying that she does not fear isolation as long as she is with him. It demonstrates that her desire to accompany him outweighs her instinct for self-preservation.

राम ने सीता को डराने के लिए वन के जिन खतरों (शेर, बाघ, हिंसक पशु) का वर्णन किया था, सीता उन्हीं शब्दों को दोहराते हुए स्वीकार करती हैं। वह कहती हैं, "हाँ, मैं जानती हूँ कि वहाँ बाघ (शार्दूल) और भेड़िये (वृक) हैं, फिर भी मैं जाऊंगी।" यह सीता के साहस का प्रमाण है। वह खतरों से अनजान नहीं हैं, बल्कि पूर्ण चेतना के साथ उन्हें स्वीकार कर रही हैं। 'पुरुषवर्जितम्' (मनुष्यों से रहित) कहकर वह यह भी संकेत देती हैं कि उन्हें भीड़-भाड़ या समाज की आवश्यकता नहीं है; राम का साथ ही उनके लिए पर्याप्त समाज है। वह राम के हर उस तर्क को काट रही हैं जो उनके वन जाने में बाधा बन रहा है।
