सीते यथा त्वाम् वक्ष्यामि तथा कार्यम् त्वया अबले ।
वने दोषा हि बहवो वदतः तान् निबोध मे ॥२-२८-४॥
sīte yathā tvām vakṣyāmi tathā kāryam tvayā abale । vane doṣā hi bahavo vadataḥ tān nibodha me ॥2-28-4॥
Translation
O Abala (frail one), you should do exactly as I tell you. There are indeed many faults (dangers) in the forest; listen to me as I recount them.

हे अबले (सुकुमारी सीते)! जैसा मैं तुमसे कह रहा हूँ, तुम्हें वैसा ही करना चाहिए। वन में बहुत से दोष (कष्ट/खतरे) हैं; मैं उन्हें बता रहा हूँ, तुम उन्हें मुझसे सुनो।
English Commentary
Rama addresses Sita as Abala. While often translated as "weak," in this context, it refers to her physical delicacy as a princess compared to the ruggedness required for survival in the wild. He is setting the stage for a "reality check." Rama believes Sita’s romanticized view of the forest (swans and lotuses) is dangerous. He intends to list the doshas (faults/dangers) systematically. His tone shifts from requesting to instructing (nibodha me - understand from me), positioning himself as the experienced protector warning a naive ward.

राम ने सीता के लिए 'अबले' शब्द का प्रयोग किया है। इसका अर्थ 'शक्तिहीन' नहीं, बल्कि शारीरिक रूप से 'कोमल' है। राम उन्हें याद दिला रहे हैं कि वन का जीवन शारीरिक शक्ति और कठोरता मांगता है, जो राजमहलों में पली-बढ़ी सीता के पास (राम की दृष्टि में) नहीं है। राम अब एक सूची (list) तैयार कर रहे हैं—वन के 'दोषों' की। यह उनकी रणनीति है: भय (fear) का उपयोग करके सीता के संकल्प को तोड़ना। वह चाहते हैं कि सीता तर्कों के बजाय वास्तविकता को जानें। 'निबोध मे' (मुझसे जानो/समझो) में एक चेतावनी का स्वर है।
