Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
प्रेत्य भावे अपि कल्याणः सम्गमः मे सह त्वया ।
श्रुतिर् हि श्रूयते पुण्या ब्राह्मणानाम् यशस्विनाम् ॥ ॥२-२९-१७॥
Pretya bhāve api kalyāṇaḥ samgamaḥ me saha tvayā । Śrutir hi śrūyate puṇyā brāhmaṇānām yaśasvinām ॥ ॥2-29-17॥
Translation
Even in the afterlife, my blessed union with you will continue. I have heard this holy scriptural truth from illustrious Brahmins.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(पति के साथ रहने से) परलोक (मरने के बाद) में भी मेरा आपके साथ कल्याणकारी मिलन बना रहेगा। यशस्वी ब्राह्मणों के मुख से मैंने वेदों की यही पवित्र श्रुति सुनी है।
English Commentary
Sita extends the scope of their union beyond death (pretya bhave). Citing the Shruti (scriptures/Vedas) heard from learned Brahmins, she argues that the bond of marriage is eternal. If she fulfills her dharma by accompanying him now, their samgama (union) will remain blessed and intact in the afterlife. She is essentially saying that separating them now would violate a cosmic law that binds them together across lifetimes.

सीता जी अब जीवन के पार, मृत्यु के बाद की स्थिति ('प्रेत्य भावे') की बात करती हैं। वेदों और धर्मशास्त्रों का हवाला देते हुए वे कहती हैं कि पति-पत्नी का संबंध केवल इस जन्म तक सीमित नहीं है। यदि वे धर्मपूर्वक राम का साथ देती हैं, तो परलोक में भी उनका साथ बना रहेगा। वे 'यशस्विनाम्' ब्राह्मणों का संदर्भ देती हैं ताकि राम उनके तर्क को काट न सकें। यह दर्शाता है कि उनका प्रेम लौकिक सुखों से परे, आध्यात्मिक और शाश्वत है।
