एवम् अस्मात् स्वकाम् नारीम् सुवृत्ताम् हि पति व्रताम् ।
न अभिरोचयसे नेतुम् त्वम् माम् केन इह हेतुना ॥ ॥२-२९-१९॥
Evam asmāt svakām nārīm suvṛttām hi pati vratām । Na abhirocayase netum tvam mām kena iha hetunā ॥ ॥2-29-19॥
Translation
Given all this, for what reason do you not wish to take me, your own faithful and virtuous wife, along with you?

ऐसा होने पर भी, आप मुझ जैसी अपनी सती-साध्वी और पतिव्रता पत्नी को साथ ले जाना क्यों नहीं चाहते? यहाँ (मुझे छोड़ने का) क्या कारण है?
English Commentary
After laying out the theological and emotional groundwork, Sita challenges Rama directly. She lists her qualifications: she is svakam (his own), suvrittam (of good conduct), and pativratam (devoted). She then demands to know the hetuna (reason/cause) for his reluctance. By asking 'Why?' she implies that his previous arguments about forest dangers are insufficient grounds to break the sacred marital bond. It is a confrontation demanding he justify his 'rejection' of a flawless wife.

तमाम दलीलें देने के बाद, सीता जी अब सीधा प्रश्न करती हैं। वे अपनी योग्यताएं गिनाती हैं: वे 'स्वकाम्' (आपकी अपनी) हैं, 'सुवृत्ताम्' (सदाचारिणी) हैं, और 'पतिव्रताम्' हैं। वे पूछती हैं—'केन हेतुना?'
