न च माम् त्वत् समीपस्थम् अपि शक्नोति राघव ।
सुराणाम् ईश्वरः शक्रः प्रधर्षयितुम् ओजसा ॥ ॥२-२९-६॥
Na ca mām tvat samīpastham api śaknoti rāghava । Surāṇām īśvaraḥ śakraḥ pradharṣayitum ojasā ॥ ॥2-29-6॥
Translation
O Raghava! When I am near you, even Shakra (Indra), the Lord of the Celestials, cannot overpower me with his might.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे राघव! जब मैं आपके समीप होऊंगी, तो देवताओं के राजा इंद्र भी अपने पराक्रम से मेरा तिरस्कार (या मुझ पर आक्रमण) करने में समर्थ नहीं हो सकते।
English Commentary
To dismiss the notion that she acts out of naivety regarding danger, Sita expresses her absolute faith in Rama's prowess. She declares that even Indra (Shakra), the supreme wielder of thunderbolts, cannot harm her when she is tvat samīpastham (standing near you). By elevating the potential threat to the highest celestial level and dismissing it, she renders the earthly threats of tigers and demons insignificant. It is a powerful affirmation of Rama’s invincibility in her eyes.

सीता जी राम की शक्ति का एक और प्रमाण देती हैं। वे कहती हैं कि वन के साधारण राक्षसों की तो बात ही क्या, स्वयं देवराज इंद्र ('सुराणाम् ईश्वरः शक्रः') भी राम के संरक्षण में बैठी सीता का बाल भी बांका नहीं कर सकते। 'त्वत् समीपस्थम्' (तुम्हारे पास स्थित)—यही उनकी सुरक्षा का कवच है। यह श्लोक दर्शाता है कि सीता राम को केवल एक राजकुमार नहीं, बल्कि महाशक्तिशाली रक्षक मानती हैं। उनका यह विश्वास राम को निरुत्तर करने के लिए है कि "जब आप साथ हैं, तो मुझे डरने का कोई कारण नहीं है।"
