English Commentary
Dasharatha finalizes his advice, reiterating self-control as the guiding principle of conduct. The narrative focus then shifts to the reaction of the immediate audience—Rama's friends and attendants (suhṛdas). These individuals are described as priyakarinah (those who do what is pleasing to Rama). They do not wait for a formal dismissal but are eager to spread the joy. Their eagerness signifies the anticipation that has gripped the palace. The news of the coronation is too good to be kept within the council chamber; it must reach the mother.

दशरथ का उपदेश समाप्त होता है। 'तस्मात्' (इसलिए) कहकर वे राम को अंतिम निर्देश देते हैं कि वे आत्म-संयम (नियम्य) के साथ कर्तव्य पथ पर बढ़ें। इसके बाद कथा का प्रवाह बदलता है। वहां उपस्थित 'सुहृद' (सुंदर हृदय वाले मित्र/सेवक) जो राम के हितैषी थे, वे इस शुभ समाचार को सुनकर अत्यंत उत्साहित हो गए। वे केवल आदेश का पालन नहीं कर रहे, वे 'प्रियकारिणः' हैं—अर्थात राम का प्रिय करना ही उनका उद्देश्य है। यह दर्शाता है कि राम का प्रभाव अपने आसपास के लोगों पर कितना गहरा था; उनकी खुशी में ही सबकी खुशी थी।
