न मातुर् न पितुस् तत्र स्मरिष्यामि न वेश्मनः ।
आर्तवानि उपभुन्जाना पुष्पाणि च फलानि च ॥ ॥२-३०-१६॥
Na mātur na pitus tatra smariṣyāmi na veśmanaḥ । Ārtavāni upabhunjānā puṣpāṇi ca phalani ca ॥ ॥2-30-16॥
Translation
Enjoying the seasonal flowers and fruits there, I shall not remember my mother, nor my father, nor my home.

वहाँ ऋतुओं के अनुसार प्राप्त होने वाले फलों और फूलों का उपभोग करती हुई, मुझे न माता की याद आएगी, न पिता की और न ही घर की।
English Commentary
Sita assures Rama that she will not pine for her past life. She states she will not miss her mother, father, or home (veshmanah). By engaging with the "seasonal" (artavani) beauty of the forest—its flowers and fruits—she implies she will live in the present moment with him rather than dwelling on the past. This is a strong statement of emotional detachment from her royal lineage in favor of her marital bond.

प्रायः विवाह के बाद भी स्त्रियों को पीहर (माता-पिता के घर) की याद आती है, विशेषकर कष्ट के समय। सीता कहती हैं कि वन की प्राकृतिक सुंदरता और राम का साथ उन्हें इतना तृप्त रखेगा कि उन्हें अपने माता-पिता या अयोध्या के घर ('वेश्मनः') की स्मृति सताएगी नहीं। वे वन को ही अपना घर बना लेंगी। यह राम को आश्वस्त करने के लिए है कि वे वन में 'होम-सिक' (घर की याद में दुखी) नहीं होंगी।
