Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ताम् परिष्वज्य बाहुभ्याम् विसम्ज्ञाम् इव दुह्खिताम् ।
उवाच वचनम् रामः परिविश्वासयम्स् तदा ॥ ॥२-३०-२६॥
Tām pariṣvajya bāhubhyām visamjñām iva duhkhitām । Uvāca vacanam rāmaḥ pariviśvāsayams tadā ॥ ॥2-30-26॥
Translation
Then Rama, embracing with his arms her who was distressed and almost unconscious with grief, spoke words to comfort and restore her confidence.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब राम ने उस दुःख से बेहाल और (लगभग) अचेत हुई सीता को अपनी भुजाओं में भरकर (गले लगाकर) धीरज बंधाते हुए यह वचन कहा।
English Commentary
Seeing Sita on the verge of fainting (visamjnam iva) from sorrow, Rama drops his argumentative stance. He embraces her to physically support and console her. The act of parivishvasayan (inspiring confidence/comforting) indicates that he is shifting from denying her request to accepting her partnership, seeing that she cannot survive without him.

सीता जी की अवस्था 'विसम्ज्ञाम् इव' (जैसे बेहोश हो रही हों) देखकर राम का प्रतिरोध टूट जाता है। वे अब तर्कों से नहीं, बल्कि प्रेमपूर्ण स्पर्श (आलिंगन) से उन्हें शांत करते हैं। 'परिविश्वासयन्' का अर्थ है विश्वास दिलाना या आश्वस्त करना। यह वह क्षण है जब राम सीता को साथ ले जाने का मन बना लेते हैं।
