Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
यत्त्रयम् तत्त्रयो लोकाः पवित्रम् तत्समम् भुवि ।
नान्यदस्ति शुभापाङ्गे तेनेदमभिराध्यते ॥ ॥२-३०-३४॥
Yat trayam tat trayo lokāḥ pavitram tat samam bhuvi । Nānyad asti śubhāpāṅge tenedam abhirādhyate ॥ ॥2-30-34॥
Translation
O one with beautiful eyes! These three correspond to the three worlds. There is nothing else on earth as holy as they are; therefore, they are to be worshipped.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे शुभ नेत्रों वाली! ये तीनों (माता, पिता, गुरु) ही तीनों लोक हैं। पृथ्वी पर इनके समान पवित्र और कुछ नहीं है, इसलिए इनकी ही आराधना की जाती है।
English Commentary
Rama elevates his parents to a cosmic status. He claims they are the embodiment of the Three Worlds (trayo lokah). Whatever sanctity exists in the universe is concentrated in them. Therefore, by obeying his father, he is not losing a kingdom, but worshipping the highest divinity available on earth.

राम माता-पिता और गुरु को 'त्रिलोक' (तीनों लोकों) का स्वरूप बताते हैं। उनकी सेवा करने से तीनों लोकों को जीतने का पुण्य मिल जाता है। राम सीता को समझा रहे हैं कि वनवास कोई दंड नहीं है, बल्कि पिता की आज्ञा मानकर वे सर्वोच्च पवित्रता और पुण्य का अर्जन कर रहे हैं।
