Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
स्वर्गो धनम् वा धान्यम् वा विद्याः पुत्राः सुखानि च ।
गुरुवृत्त्यनुरोधेन न किम्चित् दपि दुर्लभम् ॥ ॥२-३०-३६॥
Svargo dhanam vā dhānyam vā vidyāḥ putrāḥ sukhāni ca । Guru-vṛtty-anurodhena na kimcid api durlabham ॥ ॥2-30-36॥
Translation
Heaven, wealth, grains, learning, sons, and happiness—nothing is difficult to obtain through service and obedience to the elders (Guru).
हिंदी अनुवाद
गुरुजनों (माता-पिता) की सेवा और अनुकूल रहने से स्वर्ग, धन, धान्य, विद्या, पुत्र और सुख—इनमें से कुछ भी दुर्लभ नहीं है (सब प्राप्त हो जाता है)।
English Commentary
Rama concludes his defense. He asserts that obedience to the Guru (father/elder) is the master key to all prosperity—material (wealth, sons, grain) and spiritual (heaven, knowledge). By prioritizing this duty, he ensures that nothing remains unattainable (durlabham) in the long run. This reinforces his decision to leave as one of wisdom, not just compulsion.

यह इस प्रसंग का उपसंहार है। राम कहते हैं कि जो बड़ों की सेवा करता है, उसे लोक और परलोक दोनों के सुख अनायास ही मिल जाते हैं। 'गुरुवृत्त्यनुरोधेन' का अर्थ है गुरु/पिता के व्यवहार के अनुकूल चलना। राम का विश्वास है कि पिता की आज्ञा मानने से वे अंततः सबकुछ प्राप्त कर लेंगे, भले ही अभी वे सब कुछ छोड़ रहे हों।
