किम् हि कृत्वा विषण्णः त्वम् कुतः वा भयम् अस्ति ते ।
यत् परित्यक्तु कामः त्वम् माम् अनन्य परायणाम् ॥ ॥२-३०-५॥
Kim hi kṛtvā viṣaṇṇaḥ tvam kutaḥ vā bhayam asti te । Yat parityaktu kāmaḥ tvam mām ananya parāyaṇām ॥ ॥2-30-5॥
Translation
What have you done to be so depressed? Or from whom do you fear, that you wish to abandon me, who is devoted to no one else but you?

आपने ऐसा क्या किया है जिससे आप इतने खिन्न (दुखी) हैं? या आपको किससे भय है, जो आप मुझ जैसी अनन्य पतिव्रता को त्यागने की इच्छा कर रहे हैं?
English Commentary
Sita directly asks the cause of Rama's hesitation. She demands to know if he is afraid of someone or guilt-ridden. She describes herself as ananya parayanam—one who has no other refuge or object of devotion other than him. By using the word parityaktu (to abandon/forsake), she reframes his benevolent 'protection' as a cruel act of abandonment. She argues that since her entire existence revolves around him, leaving her behind is not an option, regardless of the external circumstances.

सीता जी सीधा प्रश्न करती हैं कि राम के मन में किस बात का डर है? "अनन्य परायणाम्" शब्द अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है, जिसका अर्थ है "जिसका कोई दूसरा आश्रय नहीं है।" सीता याद दिलाती हैं कि विवाह के बाद पति ही स्त्री का एकमात्र रक्षक और गति होता है। यदि राम ही उन्हें त्याग देंगे, तो उनकी निष्ठा और भक्ति का क्या मूल्य रह जाएगा? वे राम के इस निर्णय को 'त्याग' (abandonment) की संज्ञा देती हैं, न कि सुरक्षा की।
