द्युमत्सेन सुतम् वीर सत्यवन्तम् अनुव्रताम् ।
सावित्रीम् इव माम् विद्धि त्वम् आत्म वश वर्तिनीम् ॥ ॥२-३०-६॥
Dyumatsena sutam vīra satyavantam anuvratām । Sāvitrīm iva mām viddhi tvam ātma vaśa vartinīm ॥ ॥2-30-6॥
Translation
O Hero! Know me to be under your control and devoted to you, just as Savitri was devoted to Satyavan, the son of Dyumatsena.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे वीर! जैसे सावित्री द्युमत्सेन के पुत्र सत्यवान के पीछे गई थी, उसी प्रकार मुझे भी अपने अधीन (अपने वश में रहने वाली) जानिये।
English Commentary
Sita invokes the powerful archetype of Savitri, who followed her husband Satyavan even into the realm of death to save him. By comparing herself to Savitri, Sita asserts that her devotion transcends physical boundaries and hardships. She addresses Rama as 'Vira' (Hero), reminding him of his status, and declares herself to be completely under his will (atma vasha vartinim). This assures him that she will not be a burden or a rebel in the forest, but a compliant and supportive partner.

सीता जी यहाँ पौराणिक संदर्भ देती हैं। सावित्री एक आदर्श पतिव्रता थीं जो अपने पति सत्यवान के प्राण बचाने के लिए यमराज के पीछे तक चली गई थीं। सीता अपनी तुलना सावित्री से करके यह स्पष्ट करती हैं कि वन तो क्या, वे मृत्यु के मुख तक राम का साथ देंगी। "आत्म वश वर्तिनीम्" कह कर वे आश्वस्त करती हैं कि वे वन में राम पर बोझ नहीं बनेंगी, बल्कि उनकी छाया बनकर, उनके अनुशासन में रहेंगी।
