Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
इति उक्तः स हि रामेण सुयज्ञः प्रतिगृह्य तत् ।
राम लक्ष्मण सीतानाम् प्रयुयोज आशिषः शिवाः ॥२-३२-११॥
iti uktaḥ sa hi rāmeṇa suyajñaḥ pratigṛhya tat |
rāma lakṣmaṇa sītānām prayuyoja āśiṣaḥ śivāḥ ॥2-32-11॥
Translation
Having been spoken to thus by Rama, Suyajna accepted that (wealth) and bestowed auspicious blessings upon Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राम के ऐसा कहने पर, सुयज्ञ ने उन (उपहारों) को स्वीकार किया और राम, लक्ष्मण तथा सीता को कल्याणकारी आशीर्वाद प्रदान किए।
English Commentary
In Vedic culture, the cycle of charity is completed only when the recipient accepts the gift and offers blessings. Suyajna accepts the gifts, understanding the Dharmic necessity of Rama's actions. The phrase "ashishah shivah" (auspicious blessings) is vital. Before embarking on the dangerous exile, Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita receive the protective shield of a Sage's blessing. Suyajna blesses all three, acknowledging their collective sacrifice. This moment signifies that while Rama loses material wealth, he gains spiritual merit and protection through the satisfaction of the wise, which is a far greater asset for the challenges ahead.

भारतीय संस्कृति में दान की पूर्णता प्रतिग्रह (स्वीकार करना) और आशीर्वाद से होती है। सुयज्ञ ने संकोच नहीं किया, क्योंकि वे जानते थे कि यह राम के धर्म-पालन का अंग है। "आशिषः शिवाः" (कल्याणकारी आशीर्वाद) अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। वनवास की कठिन यात्रा से पूर्व राम, सीता और लक्ष्मण को इन सात्विक आशीर्वादों की आवश्यकता थी। ब्राह्मण का आशीर्वाद एक कवच की तरह कार्य करता है। यहाँ सुयज्ञ ने केवल राम को नहीं, अपितु लक्ष्मण और सीता को भी आशीर्वाद दिया, क्योंकि वे तीनों ही त्याग की इस यात्रा में भागीदार थे। यह श्लोक 'दान' और 'पुण्य' के चक्र को पूरा करता है।
