ब्रवीमि सत्येन न तेऽस्ति यन्त्रणा ।
धनम् हि यद्यन्मम विप्रकारणात् ।
भवत्सु सम्यक्र्पतिपादनेन त ।
न्मयार्जितम् प्रीतियश्स्करम् भवेत् ॥ ॥२-३२-४१॥
Bravīmi satyena na te'sti yantraṇā |
Dhanam hi yadyanmama viprakāraṇāt |
Bhavatsu samyakpratipādanena ta |
nmayārjitam prītiyaśaskaram bhavet ॥2-32-41॥
Translation
"I speak the truth; you need not have any hesitation. Whatever wealth I possess is indeed for the sake of Brahmins. By properly bestowing it upon you all, it will bring me happiness and fame."

"मैं सत्य कहता हूं, आपको संकोच करने की आवश्यकता नहीं है। मेरा यह जो कुछ भी धन है, वह ब्राह्मणों के लिए ही है। आप लोगों को इसका सम्यक दान करने से मुझे प्रीति और यश की प्राप्ति होगी।"
English Commentary
Rama articulates a profound principle of Vedic dharma here: wealth is not for hoarding but for supporting wisdom and dharma. He assures Trijata that he need not feel any constraint or embarrassment (yantraṇā) in accepting the gift. Rama frames the act of giving not as a favor to the receiver, but as a benefit to the giver. By accepting the wealth, the Brahmins allow Rama to earn Prīti (affection/satisfaction) and Yashas (fame/merit). This reflects the ideal attitude of a donor—viewing the wealth as rightfully belonging to the community and the sages, and feeling grateful for the opportunity to distribute it before departing.

इस श्लोक में राम भारतीय संस्कृति के उस आदर्श को प्रस्तुत करते हैं जहाँ राजा या गृहस्थ अपनी संपत्ति का स्वामी नहीं, बल्कि उसका संरक्षक (Trustee) होता है। राम कहते हैं कि उनकी संपत्ति का वास्तविक उद्देश्य विद्वानों और ब्राह्मणों का भरण-पोषण है। 'न तेऽस्ति यन्त्रणा' कहकर वे त्रिजट का संकोच दूर करते हैं। राम यह मानते हैं कि दान देकर वे किसी पर उपकार नहीं कर रहे, बल्कि दान लेने वाला उन पर उपकार कर रहा है, क्योंकि इससे राम को 'प्रीति' (आत्मसंतुष्टि) और 'यश' (कीर्ति) मिल रहा है। यह सात्विक दान का सर्वोच्च उदाहरण है, जहाँ दाता अभिमान से मुक्त होकर विनम्रता पूर्वक दान देता है।
