स चापि रामः प्रतिपूर्णमानसो ।
महद्धनम् धर्मबलैरुपार्जितम् ।
नियोजयामास सुहृज्जनेऽचिरा ।
द्यथार्हसम्मानवचःप्रचोदितः ॥ ॥२-३२-४३॥
Sa cāpi rāmaḥ pratipūrṇamānaso |
Mahaddhanam dharmabalairupārjitam |
Niyojayāmāsa suhṛjjane'cirā |
dyathārhasammānavacaḥpracoditaḥ ॥2-32-43॥
Translation
And Rama too, with a mind full of contentment, quickly distributed that immense wealth earned through righteousness and strength among his friends and kinsmen, urging them with words of appropriate honor.

उस समय पूर्ण संतोष से भरे हुए श्रीराम ने अपने धर्म और बाहुबल से अर्जित उस विशाल धनराशि को, यथोचित सम्मान और प्रिय वचनों के साथ, शीघ्र ही अपने मित्र-स्नेहियों में वितरित कर दिया।
English Commentary
This verse captures the final act of divestment. Rama acts with a "fully satisfied mind" (pratipūrṇamānaso), showing no regret in losing his royal fortune. The wealth is described as earned through Dharma and power, legitimatizing its distribution. Significantly, Rama doesn't just distribute money; he does so with yathārhasammāna—respect appropriate to each individual. He treats his dependents and friends with dignity, using kind words. This reinforces Rama as the ideal leader who cares for his people's emotional well-being as much as their financial security, ensuring they are settled before he leaves for his hardships.

यहाँ राम की मानसिक स्थिति 'प्रतिपूर्णमानसः' (पूर्णतः संतुष्ट मन वाले) बताई गई है। अपना सब कुछ खोकर या दान देकर आमतौर पर व्यक्ति दुखी होता है, किंतु राम संतुष्ट हैं। यह उनकी वैराग्य वृत्ति है। यह धन 'धर्मबलैरुपार्जितम्' है, अर्थात अन्याय से नहीं, बल्कि धर्म और पराक्रम से कमाया गया है। राम ने यह धन सेवकों, मित्रों और आश्रितों को ऐसे ही नहीं फेंक दिया, बल्कि 'यथार्हसम्मान' (यथोचित सम्मान) के साथ दिया। दान देते समय वाणी की मधुरता और सम्मान का भाव उतना ही महत्वपूर्ण है जितनी कि वस्तु। राम ने वन जाने से पहले यह सुनिश्चित किया कि उनके जाने के बाद उनके आश्रितों को कष्ट न हो।
