अन्यैः च रत्नैः बहुभिः काकुत्स्थः प्रत्यपूजयत् ।
सुयज्ञम् स तदा उवाच रामः सीता प्रचोदितः ॥२-३२-६॥
anyaiḥ ca ratnaiḥ bahubhiḥ kākutsthaḥ pratyapūjayat |
suyajñam sa tadā uvāca rāmaḥ sītā pracoditaḥ ॥2-32-6॥
Translation
...and with many other gems, Kakutstha (Rama) worshipped Suyajna. Then, prompted by Sita, Rama spoke to Suyajna.

...तथा अन्य बहुत से रत्नों द्वारा काकुत्स्थ (राम) ने सुयज्ञ का पूजन (सत्कार) किया। तब सीता द्वारा प्रेरित होकर राम ने सुयज्ञ से (यह) कहा।
English Commentary
The use of the epithet "Kakutstha" invokes Rama's lineage, famous for magnanimity. Rama "worshipped" (pratyapujayat) the sage with these gifts, implying that the charity was given with reverence, not arrogance. The crucial phrase here is "Sita pracoditah" (prompted by Sita). This reveals Sita's agency and active participation in this act of renunciation. She is not passively following Rama; she initiates specific acts of giving. It reflects the harmonious dynamic between them, where the wife inspires the husband in Dharmic acts. Sita desires to give specific gifts but respects social protocol by having Rama convey her intent.
