पर्यङ्कमग्र्यास्तरणम् नानारत्नविभूषितम् ।
तम् अपि इच्चति वैदेही प्रतिष्ठापयितुम् त्वयि ॥२-३२-९॥
paryaṅkam agryāstaraṇam nānāratnavibhūṣitam |
tam api iccati vaidehī pratiṣṭhāpayitum tvayi ॥2-32-9॥
Translation
"Vaidehi (Sita) wishes to establish/bestow that very bed upon you, which is covered with excellent sheets and decorated with various gems."

वह नाना रत्नों से विभूषित और श्रेष्ठ बिछौनों वाला पलंग भी वैदेही (सीता) आपको समर्पित करना चाहती हैं (ताकि वह आपके घर में प्रतिष्ठित हो)।
English Commentary
The use of the name "Vaidehi" (Princess of Videha) evokes Sita's noble lineage and the generosity associated with King Janaka. The phrase "pratishthapayitum tvayi" implies more than just handing over; it means she wishes for the bed to be established in Suyajna's home for his use. The repetition of the bed's description emphasizes the significance of this gift. It highlights Sita's personal sacrifice—she is giving away the symbol of her rest and comfort. Rama reiterates this to ensure Suyajna understands this is a specific request from Sita, adding a layer of personal appeal to the formal act of charity.
