Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ते लक्ष्मणैव क्षिप्रम् सपत्न्यः सह बान्धवाः ।
गच्चन्तम् अनुगच्चामः येन गच्चति राघवः ॥ ॥२-३३-१६॥
Te lakṣmaṇaiva kṣipram sapatnyaḥ saha bāndhavāḥ । Gaccantam anugaccāmaḥ yena gaccati rāghavaḥ ॥ ॥2-33-16॥
Translation
Therefore, like Lakshmana, we too, along with our wives and kinsmen, shall swiftly follow the path that Raghava takes.

इसलिए, हम भी अपनी पत्नियों और भाई-बंधुओं के साथ, लक्ष्मण की भांति शीघ्र ही उसी मार्ग पर चलेंगे जिधर राघव (राम) जा रहे हैं।
English Commentary
Moved by the realization that Rama is their root, the citizens shift from lamentation to action. They resolve to follow him. The comparison Lakshmanaiva ("just like Lakshmana") is significant. Lakshmana is the gold standard of loyalty; the citizens aspire to emulate his dedication. They declare a mass migration, intending to take their wives and families, leaving nothing behind. The phrase Yena gaccati Raghavah (wherever Raghava goes) indicates unconditional surrender. They do not care about the destination (the forest); they only care about the company (Rama). It signifies that for them, the concept of a "Kingdom" is defined by the person of the King, not the geography of the city.

विलाप के बाद अब प्रजा ने निर्णय (Resolution) ले लिया है। वे केवल रोना नहीं चाहते, बल्कि कर्म करना चाहते हैं। "लक्ष्मणैव"—लक्ष्मण की तरह। लक्ष्मण का त्याग उनके लिए आदर्श (Benchmark) बन गया है। यदि लक्ष्मण राम के पीछे जा सकते हैं, तो वे क्यों नहीं? यह एक सामूहिक पलायन (Mass exodus) की घोषणा है। वे अकेले नहीं, बल्कि "सपत्न्यः सह बान्धवाः"—पूरे परिवार के साथ जाने को तैयार हैं। यह अयोध्या के प्रति उनका मोहभंग और राम के प्रति अनन्य निष्ठा को दर्शाता है। उनके लिए 'घर' वह जगह है जहां राम हैं, चाहे वह जंगल ही क्यों न हो।
