Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तम् परिष्वज्य बाहुभ्याम् ताव् उभौ राम लक्ष्मणौ ।
पर्यन्के सीतया सार्धम् रुदन्तः समवेशयन् ॥ ॥२-३४-२०॥
Tam pariṣvajya bāhubhyām tāv ubhau rāma lakṣmaṇau |
Paryanke sītayā sārdham rudantaḥ samaveśayan ॥2-34-20॥
Translation
Embracing him with their arms, both Rama and Lakshmana, weeping along with Sita, placed him upon the couch.

तब राम और लक्ष्मण, दोनों ने अपनी भुजाओं से राजा को थामकर (गले लगाकर) उठाया और रोते हुए सीता के साथ मिलकर उन्हें पलंग पर लिटाया।
English Commentary
This is a scene of tender intimacy amidst the chaos. The brothers lift their father, pariṣvajya (embracing/holding him close). It is not a clinical act of moving a patient; it is an act of love. They place him on the paryanke (couch/bed). The inclusion of Sita (sītayā sārdham) completes the picture of the children tending to the parent. The word rudantaḥ (weeping) applies to all of them. Rama's stoicism gives way to tears upon seeing his father's physical collapse. It humanizes the avatar—he is steadfast in resolve but vulnerable in love. The entire family unit is united in tears around the bed.

यह एक अत्यंत मानवीय और कोमल क्षण है। 'परिष्वज्य बाहुभ्याम्' (भुजाओं में भरकर/गले लगाकर)—यह स्पर्श चिकित्सा जैसा है। पुत्र पिता को उठाकर पलंग पर लिटाते हैं। महत्वपूर्ण बात यह है कि 'सीतया सार्धम्' (सीता के साथ)। सीता भी इसमें सहयोग कर रही हैं। और 'रुदन्तः' (रोते हुए)—राम, जो अब तक स्थिर थे, पिता की यह दशा देखकर अपने आंसू नहीं रोक पाते। यह श्लोक बताता है कि राम पत्थर की मूर्ति नहीं हैं; वे धर्म का पालन कर रहे हैं, लेकिन उनका हृदय भी उतना ही कोमल है। तीनों मिलकर उस टूटे हुए पिता की सेवा कर रहे हैं जिसे उन्होंने ही (अप्रत्यक्ष रूप से) तोड़ा है।
