Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
श्रेयसे वृद्धये तात पुनर् आगमनाय च ।
गच्चस्व अरिष्टम् अव्यग्रः पन्थानम् अकुतः भयम् ॥ ॥२-३४-३१॥
Śreyase vṛddhaye tāta punar āgamanāya ca |
Gaccasva ariṣṭam avyagraḥ panthānam akutaḥ bhayam ॥2-34-31॥
Translation
"O Son! Go for your welfare, for your growth, and for your safe return. Tread the path where there is no fear from any quarter, without distress and unharmed."

"हे तात! कल्याण के लिए, उन्नति के लिए और पुनः वापस आने के लिए तुम जाओ। निर्भय होकर और व्यग्रता रहित होकर उस मार्ग पर चलो जहाँ किसी प्रकार का भय नहीं है।"
English Commentary
Dasaratha finally utters the word permitting departure: gaccasva (go). But he wraps this painful command in protective blessings. He blesses Rama for śreyase (spiritual good), vṛddhaye (prosperity/growth), and crucially, punar āgamanāya (for return). He wishes for the journey to be ariṣṭam (unhurt/safe) and the path to be akutaḥ bhayam (free from fear from any direction). This is the traditional send-off a father gives a son going on a journey, but here the weight is infinite because the journey is into exile. It marks the moment Dasaratha accepts the inevitable.
