इयम् सराष्ट्रा सजना धन धान्य समाकुला ।
मया विसृष्टा वसुधा भरताय प्रदीयताम् ॥२-३४-४१॥
Iyam sarāṣṭrā sajanā dhana dhānya samākulā । Mayā visṛṣṭā vasudhā bharatāya pradīyatām ॥ ॥2-34-41॥
Translation
Let this earth, complete with the kingdom, its people, wealth, and grain, which has been renounced by me, be given to Bharata.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मेरे द्वारा छोड़ी गई यह पृथ्वी, जो राज्य, प्रजा, धन और धान्य से परिपूर्ण है, भरत को दे दी जाए।
English Commentary
Rama’s renunciation is absolute. He describes the kingdom vividly—full of people, wealth, and grain—only to explicitly state that he has visrishta (abandoned/released) it. There is no hesitation or conditions attached. By actively asking that it be given to Bharata, Rama removes any potential conflict or guilt Dasharatha might feel about disinheriting him. It shows Rama’s detachment; he treats the crown not as a prize to be fought for, but as a responsibility he is currently handing over to another to fulfill a higher purpose.

राम का त्याग पूर्ण और नि:शर्त है। वे 'विसृष्टा' (छोड़ी हुई) शब्द का प्रयोग करते हैं, जैसे कोई जीर्ण वस्त्र त्याग रहा हो। उन्हें राज्य के धन-धान्य का कोई लोभ नहीं है। वे पिता को आश्वस्त कर रहे हैं कि उनके मन में राज्य छिन जाने का कोई द्वेष नहीं है। वे स्वयं वकालत कर रहे हैं कि यह सब भरत को सौंप दिया जाए। यह राम की उदारता है कि वे अपने अधिकार का त्याग ही नहीं कर रहे, बल्कि उसे अपने छोटे भाई के लिए उपहार मान रहे हैं।
