स त्वा पश्यतु भद्रम् ते रामः सत्य पराक्रमः ।
सर्वान् सुहृदाअपृच्च्य त्वाम् इदानीम् दिदृक्षते ॥ ॥२-३४-७॥
Sa tvā paśyatu bhadram te rāmaḥ satya parākramaḥ |
Sarvān suhṛdāpṛccya tvām idānīm didṛkṣate ॥2-34-7॥
Translation
"May prosperity attend you! Let Rama, of truthful valor, see you. Having bid farewell to all his friends, he now wishes to see you."

"आपका कल्याण हो! वे सत्य-पराक्रमी राम आपके दर्शन करें। अपने सभी मित्रों से विदा लेकर वे अब आपको देखना चाहते हैं।"
English Commentary
The phrase bhadram te (may it be well with you) is a standard blessing, but here it carries a desperate hope for the King's stability. Rama is described as satya parākramaḥ (one whose valor is truth). This is significant: Rama is not displaying valor on a battlefield right now, but on the field of Dharma. His adherence to truth is his strength.
Sumantra outlines the progression of Rama's farewells: he has finished with his friends and dependents. Now, he focuses solely on the King (tvām idānīm didṛkṣate). This implies that the King is the final and most important anchor Rama must address before leaving. Sumantra is gently urging the King to grant this audience, framing it not as a tragedy, but as the wish of a truthful and dutiful son.

सुमन्त्र 'भद्रम् ते' (आपका कल्याण हो) कहकर राजा को आश्वस्त करने का प्रयास करते हैं, यद्यपि स्थिति कल्याणकारी नहीं है। राम के लिए 'सत्य पराक्रमः' विशेषण का प्रयोग बहुत सार्थक है। इसका अर्थ है कि राम का पराक्रम उनके सत्य में निहित है। वे वन जा रहे हैं, किसी हार के कारण नहीं, बल्कि 'सत्य' (पिता के वचन) की रक्षा के लिए।
सुमन्त्र बताते हैं कि राम ने 'सुहृद' (मित्रों) से विदा ले ली है। अब केवल पिता से मिलना शेष है। 'दिदृक्षते' (देखने की इच्छा) शब्द दर्शाता है कि राम बिना पिता के दर्शन और आशीर्वाद के नहीं जाएंगे। यह राम की पितृभक्ति है। सुमन्त्र राजा को प्रेरित कर रहे हैं कि वे उठें और अपने सत्यवादी पुत्र का सामना करें, क्योंकि पुत्र ने अपनी ओर से सारी तैयारी पूरी कर ली है।
