नैवम् भव Gऋहाणेदम् यदाह वसुधाधिपः ।
भर्तुरिच्चामुपास्वेह जनस्यास्य गतिर्भव ॥ ॥२-३५-२९॥
Naivam bhava gṛhāṇedam yadāha vasudhādhipaḥ । Bharturicchāmupāsveha janasyāsya gatirbhava ॥ ॥2-35-29॥
Translation
Do not be like this (like your mother). Accept what the Lord of the Earth says. Follow your husband's will and be the refuge of this people.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(अपने वंशानुगत स्वभाव के अनुसार) ऐसी मत बनो। पृथ्वीपति दशरथ जो कह रहे हैं, उसे स्वीकार करो। अपने पति की इच्छा का पालन करो और इस प्रजा का आश्रय बनो।
English Commentary
After the harsh comparison, Sumantra pivots to advice. He urges her to break the cycle of her lineage ("Do not be like this"). He presents a path to redemption: adhere to the King's wish. By doing so, she can transform from a destroyer to a Gati (refuge/sanctuary) for the people. Sumantra is trying to appeal to her potential legacy—she can choose to be remembered as the savior of Ayodhya rather than its destroyer.

कठोरता के बाद, सुमंत्र अब पुनः अनुनय-विनय की मुद्रा में आते हैं। 'नैवम् भव' (ऐसी मत बनो) कहकर वह उसे अपनी नियति बदलने का अवसर दे रहे हैं। वह उसे सलाह देते हैं कि वह अपनी माँ का अनुसरण न करे, बल्कि पतिव्रता धर्म का पालन करे। 'जनस्यास्य गतिर्भव' का अर्थ है कि यदि कैकेयी राम का राज्याभिषेक मान लेती है, तो वह प्रजा की रक्षक और 'गति' (सहारा) बन जाएगी। सुमंत्र उसे खलनायिका से लोक-माता बनने का विकल्प दे रहे हैं।
