न ह्यकार्यतमम् किम्चित् तव देवीह विद्यते ।
पतिघ्नीम् त्वामहम् मन्ये कुलघ्नीमपि चान्ततः ॥ ॥२-३५-६॥
Na hyakāryatamam kimcit tava devīha vidyate । Patighnīm tvāmaham manye kulaghnīmapi cāntataḥ ॥ ॥2-35-6॥
Translation
"O Devi, there is indeed no act too sinful for you in this world. I consider you a slayer of your husband and, ultimately, a destroyer of your family line."

"हे देवी! इस संसार में तुम्हारे लिए कुछ भी न करने योग्य (अकार्य) नहीं है। मैं तुम्हें पतिघातिनी और अंततः कुल का नाश करने वाली (कुलघ्नी) मानता हूँ।"
English Commentary
This is an exceptionally harsh condemnation. Sumantra calls the Queen Patighnī (husband-slayer) and Kulaghnī (destroyer of the lineage). He perceives the future clearly: Dasharatha will die without Rama. Therefore, Kaikeyi is not just asking for a boon; she is committing regicide and breaking the chain of succession. It reflects the extremity of the situation that a minister dares to level such charges against the favorite Queen. He asserts that her moral compass is completely broken.

यह रामायण के सबसे कठोर श्लोकों में से एक है। एक मंत्री रानी को 'पतिघ्नी' (पति की हत्यारी) कह रहा है। सुमन्त्र देख पा रहे हैं कि राम के वियोग में दशरथ जीवित नहीं बचेंगे, इसलिए वे कैकेयी को हत्या का दोषी ठहरा रहे हैं। साथ ही, 'कुलघ्नी' कहकर वे चेतावनी दे रहे हैं कि इस अधर्म से रघुकुल की प्रतिष्ठा और वंश दोनों नष्ट हो जाएंगे। क्रोध में भी सुमन्त्र का विश्लेषण सटीक है—यह केवल एक वरदान नहीं, बल्कि वंश का विनाश है।
