सूत रत्न सुसम्पूर्णा चतुर् विध बला चमूः ।
रागवस्य अनुयात्रा अर्थम् क्षिप्रम् प्रतिविधीयताम् ॥ ॥२-३६-२॥
Sūta ratna susampūrṇā catur vidha balā camūḥ । Rāghavasya anuyātrā artham kṣipram prativi dhīyatām ॥ ॥2-36-2॥
Translation
O Charioteer! Let the four-fold army, fully equipped with jewels and wealth, be prepared immediately to follow Raghava.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे सारथि (सुमंत्र)! धन-रत्नों से भली-भांति पूर्ण चतुरंगिणी सेना (हाथी, घोड़ा, रथ और पैदल) राघव (राम) के पीछे चलने के लिए शीघ्र तैयार की जाए।
English Commentary
Dasharatha attempts a strategic workaround. The boon specified Rama's exile to the forest, but Dasharatha interprets this to mean Rama can take the kingdom with him. He orders the Chatur-vidha bala (four-fold army: infantry, cavalry, elephants, chariots) and treasury to accompany Rama. Dasharatha’s logic is: 'Let him rule in the forest.' It is a desperate bid to ensure that while Rama loses the geography of Ayodhya, he retains the power, security, and dignity of a King.

राजा दशरथ एक साहसी कदम उठाते हैं। कैकेयी ने 'राम का वनवास' माँगा था, लेकिन यह नहीं कहा था कि राम को 'अकेले' जाना होगा। दशरथ इस तकनीकी बिंदु का लाभ उठाते हैं। वह आदेश देते हैं कि पूरी शाही सेना और खजाना राम के साथ जाएगा। उनका तर्क है कि यदि राम अयोध्या में राजा नहीं बन सकते, तो वे वन में जाकर एक नई अयोध्या बसा लेंगे। यह एक पिता का प्रयास है कि अपने पुत्र को तपस्वी के वेश में न देखना पड़े, भले ही उसे वन में रहना पड़े।
