रूप आजीवा च शालिन्यो वणिजः च महा धनाः ।
शोभयन्तु कुमारस्य वाहिनीम् सुप्रसारिताः ॥ ॥२-३६-३॥
Rūpa ājīvā ca śālinyo vaṇijaḥ ca mahā dhanāḥ । Śobhayantu kumārasya vāhinīm suprasāritāḥ ॥ ॥2-36-3॥
Translation
Let the courtesans (those who live by beauty), eloquent people, and wealthy merchants adorn the Prince's army procession and follow him.

रूपजीवा (सौंदर्य पर आश्रित स्त्रियाँ/वेश्याएँ), वाकपटु लोग और महाधनी व्यापारी अपनी दुकानों को सजाकर राजकुमार की सेना की शोभा बढ़ाएं (उनके साथ चलें)।
English Commentary
Dasharatha envisions a mobile city accompanying Rama. He orders Rupa-ajivas (courtesans/entertainers) and wealthy merchants to join the retinue. This transforms the exile into a royal migration. By including merchants, he ensures economic stability; by including entertainers, he ensures leisure. Dasharatha is essentially trying to export the capital city into the wilderness so that Rama feels no loss of lifestyle. It reflects the King's denial of the harsh reality of the ascetic vow Rama is expected to take.

दशरथ केवल सेना नहीं, बल्कि पूरा समाज राम के साथ भेजना चाहते हैं। 'रूपजीवा' (गणिकाएँ/कलाकार) और व्यापारी किसी भी समृद्ध नगर के अनिवार्य अंग माने जाते थे। दशरथ चाहते हैं कि वन में राम को किसी भी सुख की कमी न हो। व्यापारियों को साथ भेजने का अर्थ है कि आपूर्ति श्रृंखला (supply chain) बनी रहे और जंगल में एक नया नगर बस सके। यह दर्शाता है कि दशरथ राम को 'तपस्वी' नहीं, बल्कि 'प्रवासी राजा' के रूप में भेजना चाहते हैं।
