तदलम् देवि रामस्य श्रिया विहतया त्वया ।
लोकतोऽप् हि ते रक्ष्यः परिवादः शुभानने ॥ ॥२-३६-३०॥
Tad alam Devi Rāmasya śriyā vihatayā tvayā |
Lokato'pi hi te rakṣyaḥ parivādaḥ śubhānane ॥2-36-30॥
Translation
Therefore, O Queen, desist from destroying Rama's prosperity. O beautiful one, you must protect yourself from the infamy of the world.
हिंदी अनुवाद
इसलिए हे देवि! राम की राजलक्ष्मी का हनन तुम्हारे द्वारा नहीं किया जाना चाहिए (बस करो)। हे शुभानने (सुंदर मुख वाली)! तुम्हें लोक-निंदा (अपयश) से अपनी रक्षा करनी चाहिए।
English Commentary
Siddhartha concludes his plea by advising Kaikeyi to stop her destruction of Rama’s fortune (shriya). He appeals to her vanity and self-interest, warning her about parivadah (public scandal/infamy). By addressing her as Shubhanane (one with a beautiful/auspicious face), he subtly contrasts her beautiful appearance with the ugliness of the reputation she is building. He urges her to save herself from eternal shame by withdrawing her harsh demands.

सिद्धार्थ अपनी बात समाप्त करते हुए अंतिम प्रयास करते हैं। वे कैकेयी को 'शुभानने' (सुंदर मुख वाली) कहकर संबोधित करते हैं, यह याद दिलाने के लिए कि उसका कार्य उसकी सुंदरता और कुल के अनुरूप नहीं है। वे उसे सलाह देते हैं कि वह राम की 'श्री' (राजलक्ष्मी) को नष्ट न करे। साथ ही, वे उसे 'परिवाद' (लोक-निंदा) से डरने को कहते हैं। यदि वह नहीं मानी, तो इतिहास उसे एक क्रूर रानी के रूप में याद रखेगा। यह उसकी अपनी प्रतिष्ठा बचाने की अपील है।
