अन्तपालाश्च यास्यन्ति सदारो यत्र राघवः ।
सहोपजीव्यम् राष्ट्रम् च पुरम् च सपरिच्छदम् ॥ ॥२-३७-२६॥
antapālāśca yāsyanti sadāro yatra rāghavaḥ |
sahopajīvyam rāṣṭram ca puram ca saparicchadam ॥2-37-26॥
Translation
"The border guards will go to wherever Raghava is with his wife. The entire kingdom and the city, along with their means of livelihood and belongings, will follow."

"जहाँ अपनी पत्नी सहित राघव (राम) रहेंगे, वहीं सीमा रक्षक (सेना) भी चले जाएँगे। और तो और, यह पूरा राष्ट्र और नगर अपनी आजीविका के साधनों और सामान के साथ वहीं चला जाएगा।"
English Commentary
Vasistha details the logistical nightmare of his threat. It is not just an emotional departure but a structural collapse of the state. If the antapālas (guards of the frontier) leave, the borders are defenseless. If the citizens take their upajīvya (livelihood/trade) with them, the economy collapses. He paints a picture of a total transfer of the 'State' to the forest.

गुरु वसिष्ठ यहाँ राज्य के पूर्ण विघटन की भविष्यवाणी कर रहे हैं। "अंतपाल" (सीमा रक्षक) का उल्लेख महत्वपूर्ण है; यदि सेना ही चली गई, तो राज्य की सुरक्षा कौन करेगा? वे कहते हैं कि लोग "सहोपजीव्यम्" (आजीविका के साधनों सहित) जाएँगे, जिसका अर्थ है कि आर्थिक गतिविधियाँ भी अयोध्या से स्थानांतरित हो जाएँगी। कैकेयी को एक मृत और असुरक्षित राज्य प्राप्त होगा।
