Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तत्त्वया पुत्रगर्धिन्या पुत्रस्य कृतमप्रियम् ।
लोके हि स न विद्येत यो न राममनुव्रतः ॥ ॥२-३७-३२॥
tattvayā putragardhinyā putrasya kṛtamapriyam |
loke hi sa na vidyeta yo na rāmamanuvrataḥ ॥2-37-32॥
Translation
"Therefore, you, who are overly ambitious for your son, have actually done something unpleasant (harmful) to him. Indeed, there is no one in this world who is not devoted to Rama."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"अतः, पुत्र की (अनुचित) कामना करने वाली तुमने अपने पुत्र का ही अप्रिय (अहित) किया है। इस संसार में ऐसा कोई नहीं है जो राम का भक्त न हो।"
English Commentary
This verse highlights the paradox of Kaikeyi’s actions. Driven by putragardhinyā (greed/obsession for her son's status), she has inadvertently become his worst enemy. Vasistha points out the political reality: legitimacy comes from public acceptance. Since the entire world (loke) loves Rama, placing Bharata in opposition to Rama sets him up for failure and universal hatred.

वसिष्ठ जी कैकेयी की विडंबना को उजागर करते हैं। वह सोचती है कि वह भरत का भला कर रही है, लेकिन वास्तव में वह उसे लोक-निंदा और आत्म-ग्लानि का पात्र बना रही है। जब पूरी दुनिया राम से प्रेम करती है, तो राम के विरोधी (भरत) को राजा के रूप में कौन स्वीकार करेगा? कैकेयी ने भरत को एक ऐसा उपहार दिया है जो विष के समान है।
