द्रक्ष्यस्यद्यैव कैकेयि पशुव्याLअमृगद्विजान् ।
गच्छेता सह रामेण पादपाम्श्च तदुन्मुखान् ॥ ॥२-३७-३३॥
drakṣyasyadyaiva kaikeyi paśuvyālamṛgadvijān |
gacchataḥ saha rāmeṇa pādapāmśca tadunmukhān ॥2-37-33॥
Translation
"O Kaikeyi, this very day you will see beasts, elephants, deer, and birds going along with Rama, and even the trees turning their faces towards him."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे कैकेयी! तुम आज ही देखोगी कि पशु, हिंसक जीव, मृग और पक्षी भी राम के साथ जा रहे हैं और वृक्ष भी (अपनी जड़ें उखाड़कर) उन्ही की ओर उन्मुख हो रहे हैं।"
English Commentary
The connection between the King and Nature is central to Indian thought. Rama is so in tune with the cosmos that his departure disrupts the natural order. Vasistha predicts that animals and even stationary trees will yearn to follow him. It serves as a final emotional blow to Kaikeyi: she is being rejected not just by society, but by Nature itself.

प्रकृति का राम के प्रति प्रेम अद्भुत है। गुरु कहते हैं कि केवल मनुष्य ही नहीं, बल्कि अविवेकी जीव-जंतु और जड़ वृक्ष भी राम के वियोग को नहीं सह सकते। यह अतिशयोक्ति नहीं, बल्कि राम के सर्वभूतहितैषी स्वभाव का प्रमाण है। जब धर्म जाता है, तो प्रकृति भी उसके पीछे हो लेती है। यह कैकेयी के एकाकीपन को और गहरा करता है।
