करिष्ये सर्वमेवाहमार्या यदनुशास्ति माम् ।
अभिज्ञास्मि यथा भर्तुर्वर्तितव्यं श्रुतं च मे ॥२-३९-२७॥
kariṣye sarvamevāham āryā yadanuśāsti mām |
abhijñāsmi yathā bharturvartitavyaṃ śrutaṃ ca me ॥2-39-27॥
Translation
O Noble Lady! I will do exactly all that you instruct me. I am aware of how one should conduct oneself towards a husband, and I have heard about it (from elders).
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे आर्या! आप मुझे जो भी आज्ञा दे रही हैं, मैं उस सबका पालन करूँगी। मुझे ज्ञात है कि पति के साथ कैसा बर्ताव करना चाहिए और मैंने (बड़ों से) सुना भी है।
English Commentary
Sita replies with resolute obedience, addressing Kausalya as Arya (Noble One). She assures her that she will follow the instructions implicitly (kariṣye sarvam eva). However, she also gently asserts her own competence and upbringing, stating abhijñā asmi (I am aware) and śrutam ca me (I have heard/learned). Sita confirms that her devotion to Rama is not just an emotional impulse but a practiced discipline derived from her training in Dharma. She validates Kausalya's advice while affirming her own unwavering commitment.

सीता यहाँ कौशल्या को 'आर्या' (श्रेष्ठ/आदरणीय महिला) कहकर संबोधित करती हैं और उन्हें आश्वस्त करती हैं। वे कहती हैं, 'अभिज्ञास्मि' (मैं जानती हूँ)। सीता याद दिलाती हैं कि पातिव्रत्य धर्म उनके लिए नया नहीं है; उन्होंने इसे अपने माता-पिता से सीखा है और 'श्रुतं च मे' (सुना भी है/शास्त्रों का ज्ञान भी है)। यह सीता का आत्मविश्वास है। वे विनम्रतापूर्वक यह संकेत दे रही हैं कि उन्हें राम के प्रति निष्ठावान रहने के लिए किसी बाहरी दबाव की आवश्यकता नहीं है, यह उनके संस्कारों में निहित है।
